Week 8 Comments and Feedback

1.    Feedback In:
I have enjoyed the feedback comments I have been getting from other people in the class. The main feedback technique I like is when they point out a specific paragraph or word that needs correcting. I feel like I make a lot of these mistakes and do not catch them since I read my story so often, so it is constructive when people point them out to me! Better now, than me realizing the errors when my project was completed. I also like when the feedback comments let me know about holes in my story. Sometimes I may be thinking that the characters personality is clear to the readers when I learn through comments I need to be more detailed.

2.    Feedback Out:
From the comments, I have received I have tried to be more specific about what exact parts confuse me in someone else’s story. I think being particular can help the writer fix the issue without feeling that the entire story did not make sense. I enjoy read everyone else’s material and have found ways to improve my style of writing by adding more dialogue and better descriptions.

3.    Blog Comments:
I have seen that most of us in this class is almost done with school and honing in on what we are planning on doing in the future. This can be inspiring and also has helped me learn about other possible career choices that I could take. It is nice to be able to connect with people and see their pictures, and it seems more personal than in a regular online course. I saw that someone was curious about a class I mentioned in my introduction, and hopefully, she can find the course so that she can take it.

4.    Looking Forward:
I need to make sure to give thoughtful, specific feedback to everyone stories. I think we can all agree that it is amazing how each of us creates such unique stories even when we have the same reading. Keeping positive but helpful is where I will try to keep my feedback that I give to future projects and stories.

5.    Image:
I picked the image of the picture telling you not to fear feedback. I think that this quote is important to remember because it can be nerve-wracking to get emails that people have commented on your stories, worried they are going to tell you it is all wrong, but that has not and will not be the case. Everyone in this class has done a great job of commenting respectfully while being helpful.
